BDO Philippines has been chosen once again as the official auditor of the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for 2011. In the Philippines, Alba Romeo & Co. is the member firm for the international network of BDO International Ltd., a UK company representing the conglomerate of member firms worldwide. BDO is the 5th largest accounting and consulting network in the world with 1,118 offices in over 135 countries.
During the signing of the memorandum of agreement, BDO Philippines was represented by Romeo C. Alba, International Liaison & Managing Partner and Antonio V. Cruz, Audit Partner.
The MMFF is the annual film festival in the Philippines. It is coordinated through the office of Chairman Francis Tolentino, Chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The MMFF runs from December 25 up to the first week of January and focuses only on locally-produced films. During the festival, no foreign-made films are shown across the nation. Also, only films approved by the Board of Jurors of the MMFF are shown during this time. This says a lot for all the films that have been nominated for the Festival having been selected for nomination out of so many submitted.
